Achievements Mancunian of the year 09/10 Carl Tilson achieved the goal being named Mancunian of the Year beating off a host of celebrities having been the only non-celebrity in the category of 24 nominees. Helping to raise around £100,000 for the Action Duchenne charity and has also directly urged the Prime Minister and health ministers to fund trials into finding a cure. Polling nearly a third of the votes cast by the public on the website Carl came ahead of Take That singer Gary Barlow who got 25 per cent and Manchester United footballer Ryan Giggs and Slumdog Millionaire film director Danny Boyle came joint third with 14 per cent each. The Vinspired National Awards 2011
March 17th the Vinspired National Awards at the indigO2 at the star-studded awards ceremony where extraordinary volunteers come together to honour those who has gone the extra mile to make a difference within their community. Award national finalist Carl Tilson champion within the Duchenne community didn’t win however was announced as regional champion for the North West. Click here to see the other finalists |
